Practising Sports at the University of Lincoln
Following on from our previous Exercise Well post ‘Staff Social Sports‘, this article will provide you with some information on how the University of Lincoln can support you to look after your wellbeing through sports.
It is well known that practising sports is a fantastic way to help your physical health, but it improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has also been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.
The Sports Centre offers you a wide range of options to exercise and keep your overall wellbeing in good shape:
- Gym Membership: colleagues can get their membership at a discounted price including a salary sacrifice option. Learn more here.
- Book a Court: there is a wide variety of sports courts that you can book, from squash or badminton to football or basket. Find a full list of sports and prices here.
- Fitness Classes: you can also join individual sessions for a wide range of fitness classes such as Boxing, Yoga or Zumba. Learn more about the offering, timetable and prices here.
